A Warning

When Walton goes to the North Pole, he is looking to harness the energy of the magnetic poles and also find a safe passageway. He is looking to do something that no one has ever done, and also can be considered controversial. He is trying to make new steps in the world and sees no consequences that could come from doing so. However, when he meets Victor, Victor seems to regret what he has done. He created life and instantly regretted doing so. He tells Walton, "But now that I had finished, the beauty of the dream vanished, and breathless horror and disgust filled my heart." (pg. 35). He obviously regrets what he has done, and tries to warn Walton of what  dangers could come from his quest.
