Nature vs. Nurture

In this novel, nature vs. nurture is a recurring theme. Throughout the book, there are examples that support both of these. After the creature was created, the reader automatically associates it with being vile, evil, and a wretched being. We make this connection because of the way Victor reacted.  A popular quote that I reference is when Victor says the monster reached out, "Seemingly" to detain him. (pg. 35). The creature confesses to Victor that humanity made him into the monster he is today. In my opinion, the creature was not evil to begin with, and the world and the people that ridiculed him turned him into a monster.
