Guilty or Destined?

Throughout this novel there is also a recurring sense of guilit coming from Victor. When he is first talking to Walton he mentions that he is guilty for creating the creature and shouldn't have in the first place. However, as time goes on and he hears the creature's story, he feels less guilty. I think that he had a sense that this was his purpose in life. On pg. 161, he mentions, "in a fit of enthusiastic madness I created a rational creature." And also, "Think not, Walton, that in the last moments of my existence I feel that burning hatred, and ardent desire of devenge, I once expressed." I think he realized this was an extraordinary feat that he accomplished, and he accepted his guilt and moved on from it rather than dwelling on it.
