Huxley uses irony in the novel in the form of soma. I found this way the most ironic. People use soma to get away from their troubles, to achieve a feeling of ecstasy. They create a barrier from the real world troubles and their mind with it. It is perhaps the "wonder drug". However in reality, soma is used to control people. If anything goes wrong, they are doused with it and subdued. People are given the illusion of happiness so they won't ever complain about something being wrong and try to fix it.
