Iago the Static

Iago is an example of a static character in this play. A static character is one who does not change throughout the story. Iago is a deceiving madman that cons people into believing him. Not only do they believe his words, but he even gets as far as having Roderigo give him all his money and he convinces Othello that his beloved wife is cheating on him. Iago is a static character becuase he is lying to get what he wants at the beginning of the play and continues to do that until the end.
