The Duke's Advice

Brabantio complains to the Duke about Othello's marriage to Desdemona. After hearing both sides of the story, the Duke has advice for both Brabantio and Othello. The advice that he give to Brabantio is to move on and accept it, he doesn't think that Othello swindled and lied to her even though Brabantio thinks this. Line 175;"Take up this mangled matter at the best". He is saying make the most of it because being negative about it won't work. At this point of the story, most of the characters think Othello tricked Desdemona into marrying him. However, we as the reader know that she genuinely fell in love with him by listening to his stories. Act 3 Line 148 "She'd come again, with a greedy ear."
